Description
Orsham is a textile brand rooted in land, legacy, and quiet revival. Founded by Hoda—a descendant of cotton farmers in Gorgan, Golestan province—Orsham seeks to restore the region’s rich cotton heritage. Once known as the land of white gold, this area has seen a steep decline in cotton farming due to falling market prices. In response, Orsham sources 100% natural cotton from its own fields and neighboring farms, working to bring vitality back to the soil and the communities around it.
Hoda has also built an ecosystem of craft and empowerment—training women, many of them young girls from nearby villages, in hand spinning, hand weaving, natural dyeing, and traditional embroidery. Through this, Orsham has created not only meaningful employment but also a pathway for women to reconnect with their ancestral knowledge and creative agency.
The brand’s collections include handwoven cotton and wool, along with pieces made from Kajin silk (peace silk), harvested only after the butterfly leaves its cocoon. At its core, Orsham is more than a textile studio—it’s a revival of communal living, where co-workers draw strength and meaning from shared labor and shared purpose.
